GED Success Story – Aunt Betty

Today I’d like to introduce you to my Aunt Betty, a GED success story.  And yes, she’s a real live person.

Who is Aunt Betty?

She’s a real person.  She’s actually my wife’s aunt.  She lives in southern Illinois and now is happily enjoying her retirement in her mid to late 60′s.  And she never finished high school.  But she did pass her GED test.

I had heard that she passed her GED test, I knew that she had a career as a manager for a large company, and that she worked for that company for over two decades.  I also know she’s a very nice person, positive, friendly, just nice to be around.  (And her husband is a great guy.)

So why not interview Aunt Betty?

Since my wife  knows I spend way too  much time  on this website, she said, “Why not ask Aunt Betty about her GED?”

So this is what I learned.  It’s not a long story.  But it’s Aunt Betty’s story.

Tell me about your passing the GED test?

Aunt Betty emailed this reply:

My Mother kept after me she didn’t want me to have children and not have my GED. She said she never had the opportunity like I did,  And she was so right ,after I was divorced ,with out the GED I could not have got the job at large company (name withheld). And took the other college classes I needed for my job.  Hope this helps  Aunt Betty.

What’s your GED Success Story

I hope Aunt Betty doesn’t mind me sharing her GED success story with you.  She’s really a success, a tribute to a positive attitude and hard work.  And a tribute to what good things can come when you pass your GED test and keep on learning.
I’m always looking for good GED success story; perhaps your story will be next.
