Florida GED
Thousands are Looking for GED help in Florida
Are you searching for GED help in the state of Florida? You’re not the only person searching. Here is a map of my Florida website visitors during the past year. All of them searching for GED information.
First Step: Research the State of Florida’s GED Site
This is the Official Florida GED Site. Within that site you will find a complete list of Florida GED Testing Centers.
What seems uncertain on the Official Florida GED Site is whether they have any collected information on GED study programs throughout the state. Some states do collect this information but it’s not found on the Florida site. Perhaps I didn’t search long enough for the information.
Second Step: Three Search Methods for finding GED help in Florida
I’ve researched and written blog articles for New York City GED, Los Angeles GED, and Chicago GED, and in that time I’ve learned three basic techniques for finding GED study centers and GED testing centers wherever you live in the U.S.
- Use Google, Yahoo, and/or Bing. Search Google for a phrase like Jacksonville Florida GED or Gainesville GED. For a city named Jacksonville you need to be specific in your Google search because multiple cities named Jacksonville exist in the United States. There is only one city named Gainesville so you need only search Google for Gainesville GED. If you don’t find useful information in searching on Google, you can always search Yahoo or Bing.
- Local Library. Visit your local library. High school dropouts who want the General Equivalency Diploma often search the Internet for solutions. It’s sometimes much better to visit a qualified person and ask them questions. Go to your local library, locate the reference librarian, and ask them for local help in studying for the GED and taking the GED test. You may be surprised that your local library offers help. If they don’t offer help, they will know who does in your community. (Be very kind and thank the librarian. I worked in libraries as a teenager and have the highest regard for librarians.)
- Community College. Phone your local community college and make an appointment to visit the admissions counselor. This is another time where visiting is probably more productive than having a phone conversation. Visit the admissions counselor and ask them if they have any GED programs. Some junior colleges do have GED help (Chicago, IL does have this type of help.) It’s very important that you visit a non-profit junior college. Do not visit a for profit program for a beauty school or automotive certificate. Visit a non-profit community college.
Wherever you live, my three step method for researching GED study programs and GED test centers in your area will be helpful.
A Pleasant Surprise: The Florida Literacy Coalition
In researching the topic Florida GED today, I found the Florida Literacy Coalition. If I was looking for GED help in any city or small town in Florida, I’d visit the Florida Literacy Coalition for help.
GED help for the cities of Orlando, Tampa, and Miami
This is my April 2011 mini-project. During this month, I’ll research and provide specific GED help for the cities of Orlando, Tampa, and Miami. GED Florida help is available on this website, on Google, at your local library, and at your community college.
